Butterfly Girl

We just finished our 4th of July parade in Woodruff. People, including this girl who was in the parade, are going home to change for the rest of the day's festivities. As she rode her bike, her wings actually flapped.

Like a butterfly.

Night Sights

For the first nineteen years of my law enforcement career I carried handguns that didn't have night sights, or little tritium ampules that glow in the dark. Back then they taught cops to shoot in the dark.

Now I have my first new service gun with the glowing sights. And some law enforcement trainers are wondering about whether or not it's a good idea to launch bullets into the pitch black. They have to end up somewhere.

Mountain Flowers

Flowers only have four or five months to make a living in the mountains above where I live. They make pretty good use of that time.
